
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
The Sudbury-Manitoulin Ethics Network is a voluntary network. Members report to and receive direction from their own governing boards/ administrations.
MEMBERSHIP:
The Sudbury-Manitoulin Ethics Network’s core membership is comprised of senior staff representatives or Ethics designates from:
• health care agencies,
• long-term care homes,
• community support services and
• post-secondary educational institutions with a health-care mandate
… in the Districts of Manitoulin and Sudbury. Members will have the knowledge, experience and mandate from their agency to promote an ethical culture in order to meet the network’s objectives.
Members are expected to regularly attend meetings and assign alternates when attendance is not possible.
ALTERNATES:
Member organizations are recommended to designate a permanent alternate to ensure continuity of participation.
Members are expected to keep their alternates informed.
MEETING FREQUENCY:
The Sudbury-Manitoulin Ethics Network will meet monthly through the months of September to June. Meetings will not be scheduled in July or August.
An annual meeting schedule will be distributed by the co-chairs in June of each year.
NEW MEMBERS:
Any organization as identified in the membership categories, that supports the Network’s purpose and is from within the SMEN’s catchment area is eligible for membership in the Network. Requests to join the network are reviewed by the co-chairs in consultation with the Sudbury-Manitoulin Ethics Network. New members are oriented to the Network by an existing member prior to their first meeting.

Donation of nearly $20,000 from the Sudbury-Manitoulin Ethics Network to the University of Sudbury! The University of Sudbury has long been a member of the Sudbury-Manitoulin Ethics Network, a group of community agencies committed to encouraging ethics related education and capacity development in the region.
